Why do we need high quality product photos for our business?
Many people ask me this question- why do I need professional product photos for my business? In my head the answer is clear, but obviously it’s not like that for some of the others. This is why I decided to clarify it with this article. Are you ready?
Grab that attention right now with amazing product photos
In that crazy competitive world everyone is raving for attention. Its more and more difficult to get it due to the intense amount of information each of us get daily. But how to compete with people and brands who are showing some crazy stuff or something increasingly cute to grab customers attention? … The answer is- be creative! Show unusual stuff! Even if you sell coffee, you can grab attention through some unusual presentation ( upside down cup of coffee, coffee splash, levitating coffee cup…etc. levitating ingredients work very well too) just think about your product and bring unusual conceptions that will make your prospects smile and be intrigued from what your product is about
Contrast colours in product photos
This rule is a classic not just in product photography, but in general. Unfortunately- very often neglected. Contrast or opposite colours are excellent for grabbing attention. Also you can implement this rule by combining warm and cold shades ( see in my example image – I use pudding with warm colour nuts and honey on it, surrounded by a cold colour table and kitchen towel. Also I have on the center red strawberries, complemented by their opposite colour green leafs to bring this contrast and attention )
The eyes go on the lightest colours first
No matter what kind of image it is- product photo advertising, landscape, portrait … this rule is always implemented. Naturally viewers eyes are going first on the lightest parts of the image. Make sure you put your “main hero” with the lightest colours, or surrounded by light colours. Also this means that the best light has to go on your “main hero”-your product
The efficiency of your ads are 75-90% due to their creative part
In other words this means your Gifs, videos, photos. They all work, but in different ways. If you have a facebook ad that performed well but in one moment the results are not as good as they were, simply change your product photo or video and use the existing settings. you will be surprised from the results. But don’t forget- use only interesting and grabbing attention creatives.
Professional product photos will make your brand look professional and you will be more competitive
Just think about this- who do you think a customer would choose between a brand with a style in their images and a brand with random product photos made with their phone or from different photographers with different styles and visions. Your product images are exactly the same as when you dress – you can quickly put on the first stuff you find just to have some clothes on, but you don’t do that when you go on a date or business meeting to try to get attention, right. ? Think about which big brand is having unprofessional and random photos of their products? And if you say “but they have big budgets for it” I will disagree, because you can have very few good product photos and to use them wisely and correctly. Remember- its like your own dressing. We don’t impress with many different visions, but with the correct and stylish ones. Customers always choose the professional services and professional looking products, even if the price is higher. So you are deciding from which side to be – from the amateur business side or from the side of the serious professional ” big boys”
According to a study 22% of products that are sold online are returned because the item doesn't look the same as it does on the product photo
Yes, that’s correct! 22% is a huge number of returns. And guess why is this? It happens because many companies especially the new ones think they can cut corners with average product photos created with their phones or they use stock images that are SIMILAR IN LOOK to their products, but not identical or they boosting the saturation and hues on the image colours.
Professionals play with other professionals
As a brand and product producer you need to collaborate in partnerships with other businesses. The bigger the business is the more difficult to reach their managers due to their complicated structures and due to they are piled up with other offers similar to yours. Here is the moment when you want to stand out from the crowd and to be professional looking.
Grab their attention with them magnificent product photos you’re providing along with unresisting offers of your product and professional communication. That will definitely make you stand out from the competition! No one has time to “play” with unserious players especially when we talk about business.
P.S. I hope this advice is helpful for your brand and you are going to implement them right now. Don’t forget that this is just a part of successful sales! Without an attractive description of your product, without pointing the benefits of it for the customers and without a great offer and custom service its not going to work properly!
I truly believe that if you put attention on this article and you spend time to read it you are not going to forget to provide a full customer service!
So, I wish you all the best of luck it your journey. Keep it fun, exciting and professional!
